We miss you already!

If you’ve spent any time in our Fenway shop you know Mariana. No sooner than you step through the door she’s there to greet you with a warm hello and a smile. Walk in for a bottle of wine, and you leave with three or four, probably a taste of whatever she has open, and some friendly neighborhood gossip. She has been the captain of the ship since Wine Press Fenway opened and we’re having a hard time imagining what life will be like without her. 

She has turned so many customers into friends that a busy Friday night in the store feels more like a visit to a friend’s party than your local wine shop. She is the consummate hostess. When our wine tastings return, we’ll miss her bouncing around the store continually pouring samples as though we were guests in her home. She knows what you need before you ask for it and always has something interesting on hand for you to try. Her depth of wine knowledge and (not so secret) love of mezcal and all things aromatized will be missed, but not nearly as much as her bubbly disposition. Her kindhearted spirit and welcoming personality are irreplaceable. 

We’re sad to see her leave but we’re comforted by the fact that she won’t be too far away. She infused so much life into Wine Press Fenway and we know it wouldn’t have reached the same success without her. So, thank you Mariana! We will miss you more than you know!
