fenway turns 4!
A pregnant Jyoti on ladders (honestly who could have stopped her?). A sign that didn’t show up until the eleventh hour. Obviously. A lot of hard work went into our Fenway shop. So, we wanted to take this chance, walk down memory lane - and whether you’re new to the store or have been with us from day one, we want to thank you.
Aaron remembers Pierce residents anxiously waiting for the doors to open. In fact, one gentleman came down to ask if he could come in. Aaron said, “Yes, we just can’t sell you anything.” The man was apparently desperate because he pleaded, “But I need a bottle of wine to take upstairs.” Aaron gave him a bottle and said he could take it as long as he came back tomorrow and paid for it. Not only did he pay for it, he became a regular customer. I guess he really enjoyed that Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon.
As a customer turned employee, I know how easy it is to feel like you are part of the family at Wine Press. But I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced the closeness and sense of community the way I have in Fenway. Our customers come in just to say hi or see if we need anything before they run their errands. It’s unlike anywhere I’ve ever worked. If you join us for our weekly tastings or stop by for treats with your puppies (shout out to our beloved Lola), we are so grateful to have you as our customers.
Happy 4 years in Fenway!
