A new kind of curation

This month we have been working hard combing through our inventory, deciding exactly which wines we want to represent each region on our shelves. The one question we are always asking ourselves is, “how can we create the best experience for our customers?”

We want everyone to go home with exactly what they want, whether that’s a funky new natural wine or a textbook expression of a Left Bank Bordeaux. We’ve taken a look at all of the wines we’ve brought in over the past year (and there have been a lot!) and come up with a new way to curate our favorites.

If a wine makes it to the shelf you know it’s going to be a classic wine from a traditional region. There are wines that are excellent representations of their region, that express unique terroirs, that we will always love. The highlights are where you’re going to find the wines that we’re taking home, wines we are obsessed with. Like one of Aaron’s new favorites, the Vette Sauvignon Blanc from Marchese Carlo Guerrieri Gonzaga. Italian Sauvignon Blanc? Or obscure Loire Valley varietals like the Abouriou from Vincent Caillé. This is what we’re talking about.

Every once in a while each of us will come across a wines like these that makes our eyes light up, wines that we just can’t stop talking about. These are the bottles we want to show off. These are the wines we think deserve everyone’s attention. This doesn’t mean that they’ll cost more, often quite the opposite. But these are the wines that get us excited, these are the wines that remind us why we love what we do.

So, the next time you find yourself in one of our shops, keep an eye out for the wines you see front and center. And get ready for the next level of curation.
